Many people think of fixed dentures as an unnatural “artificial smile”. This not always the case. We will create the beautiful and natural smile you’ve been dreaming of.

Imagine fixed dentures as a set of ceramic crowns and bridges fixed firmly on your own teeth or fixed using dental implants.

  • How does it work?

Fixed dentures make everyday life easier for people who suffer from dental problems, whether they are missing teeth or more serious problems. These are replacements that are permanently and inseparably connected to the patient’s teeth. Fixed dentures can be divided into crown replacements and fixed bridges. So come in and make your life easier with us!

  • Contraindications

Very rarely is there any allergic reaction to any of the materials used

  • How do we create fixed dentures?

If a patient decides on fixed dentures, he or she does not have to all of his or her teeth removed. The advantage comes in the form of fixed dentures made of dental crowns, which are attached to the treated and grounded tooth. If the patient does not have all of his or her teeth, a dental bridge can be created that is attached to two or more of the patient’s teeth. “All-on-4” or “all-on-6” treatment types may also be a solution.

    • Step 1

As with any treatment, an initial consultation is also required when wanting fixed dentures. During this period, the treatment plan and price offer for the entire treatment will be determined in advance. The patient is familiarized with the entire course of treatment.

    • Step 2 – Crown replacement

In case the patient still has all of his or her teeth, but they are damaged by tooth decay or breakage, crown replacements are used. To start off with, the damaged tooth or teeth are ground down to the required dimensions so that the replacement can be fitted precisely and then new crowns are fabricated in the dental laboratory or made using the CEREC® system. These are put on the ground teeth and a new smile is ready to greet the world! The patient quickly gets used to this type of fixed denture and, after a very short period of time, he or she starts to perceive the crowns as his or her own teeth. Their advantage is that they fulfil the function of a kind of “sheath” that protects the ground tooth from tooth decay. Nevertheless, it is important to add that proper dental hygiene should not be underestimated with fixed crowns!

    • Step 2 – Dental bridges

Fixed dentures are also an option if the patient is missing just one or two teeth. In this situation, a dental bridge is a very useful type of denture to be used. Its structure is made of post crowns and very important intermediate parts, which are connected into a single unit. The crowns are attached to the ground teeth. The intermediate parts perform the function of dentures in places where the patient has missing teeth. They replace the chewing function of lost teeth. The patient gets used to this type of denture very quickly and aesthetically it is very difficult to tell the difference between a denture and a healthy tooth.

    • Step 3

After the fixed dentures are fitted, the patient has to be informed about proper dental hygiene procedures, which can greatly extend the life of your dentures!

Removable dentures

Most patients are familiar with this variant of dentures. This is a type of denture that can be removed from your mouth and reinserted.

  • How does it work?

Its biggest advantage is the possibility of carrying out hygiene more frequently, as you can clean them thoroughly when removed from the mouth. Conversely, by using removable dentures, for example, the patient must prepare for a longer period of getting used to them. If there are still usable and firm teeth in the mouth, removable dentures can be made with insert connections to provide more stability.
  • Contraindications

    Allergy to resin or metals

  • How does the treatment work?

Creating removable dentures is more time-consuming for the patient, but the result is worth it. For each patient, the length of treatment is different and the prosthesis is made in several and very important tests. In addition to the dentist, a dental technician also has to put in work when making this prosthesis.

    • Step 1

As with any treatment, an initial consultation is just as important when wanting removable dentures. At this point, the doctor will go over the entire course of treatment and price quotation with the patient. Based on the X-ray images, the dentist will assess the height and thickness of the bone, the post teeth and possible sharp protrusions. If a possible problem is detected, the doctor surgically intervenes. If the patient still has any remaining teeth, then tooth extraction will be needed to make room for the removable dentures.
    • Step 2

An integral part of denture fabrication are the situational upper and lower impressions. The second impression that is made is called a functional impression. After the impressions are made, the height of the bite is measured, meaning the height at which the new teeth have to be formed. In this way, the original bite ratios are reconstructed and secured. This is very important for the patient to be able to eat and function in everyday life.
    • Step 3

The patient also undergoes a wax test to determine the position of the future prosthesis. It is a very effective test that helps to correct the position of the teeth.

    • Step 4

After all the necessary treatments have been carried out and the finished removable dentures have been made, the time comes to actually try out the dentures. It is especially important for the patient to determine that he or she does not feel any pain or uncomfortable pressure when the prosthesis is fitted and, last but not least, he or she has to look at the aesthetic aspect of the prosthesis.

The period of getting used to removable dentures is slightly longer than for bridges or implants. The patient must prepare to practice talking with and using the prosthesis in general. But what’s important is that now your new smile is ready to greet the world!
