The most effective teeth whitening is done with hydrogen peroxide. This is so far the only substance on the market that really whitens teeth. A tooth is composed of tooth enamel on the surface, with dentin underneath. Its colourations also indicates the colour of the tooth. It determines how yellow or white your teeth are. If we want the whitening effect to be long-lasting, it is the dentin that needs to be whitened. This darkens with age and that’s why our teeth get darker/yellower as we grow older.
We use a 12% hydrogen peroxide solution to whiten the dentin, which passes through the tubules in the tooth enamel and gently whitens the dentin. The gentleness of the whitening process depends on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide: the lower the concentration, the gentler the whitening process.
If we want the teeth whitening to have the best possible effect, it is important to undergo dental hygiene beforehand, where plaque and pigments are removed from the teeth using sandblasting. We also remove the tartar using ultrasound. Once your teeth are clean, we will provide the most effective teeth whitening possible.
