Straumann brand dental implants are a great option if you have lost one of your teeth and all the surrounding teeth are healthy. We can create this type of tooth replacement while you wait in our clinic using the CEREC® system. The implant consists of two parts – a screw and a white dental crown, which is painlessly placed on it. If you decide on a dental implant, within a couple of minutes we will perform a CT scan, which will tell the dentists more about the condition of your teeth and especially the bone into which the screw will be placed. We can perform this procedure during one appointment and completely free of pain! The biggest advantage of a dental implant is the easy replacement of the crown in case of damage or wear.
The first step is a necessary consultation, during which the dentist thoroughly examines the medical history to exclude possible contraindications. He will then examine the condition of the oral cavity and the condition of the tissues around the teeth. It is important to make a CT scan, which will show the condition and amount of the bone remaining. This will also help to specify the quality of the bone into which the implant will be inserted. Based on a thorough and professional examination, the dentist will evaluate whether or not an implant can be inserted. If the amount of bone is not sufficient, in some cases bone can be supplemented.
The second step is the actual insertion of the implant into the bone. This procedure is followed by a period of healing, which takes approximately 60 days. After 2 months, when the implant has healed, we can proceed with the creation of the dental crown, which is also part of the implant. Impressions of your teeth are made and the crown will be made within 14 days. Meaning you are just one step away from the smile of your dreams. During the following visit the completed crown will be handed over and screwed onto the implant and afterwards sealed. The implant insertion takes no more than 30 minutes. You can have your implant ready within three appointments at our clinic!
